Optima Pools is led hands-on by owner Thomas Bessette — a specialist who holds every project to the highest standard, from Surprise to across Arizona.
Thomas Bessette — hands-on from first sketch to final fill
With more than 55 years of combined experience behind Optima Pools, Tom has built and remodeled pools throughout Arizona. He isn't a salesman who hands your project to a crew you never meet — he's on your job site, holding every trade to his standard.
That accountability is why clients say they never had to worry about a thing. As a Pentair Authorized Dealer, Tom backs equipment with a 3-year warranty and builds pools designed to last for decades in the Arizona sun.
Quality over discounts
We don't compete on being the cheapest. New custom pool builds start at $45k+ and full remodels start at $15k+ because we use the right materials, the right crews, and the right amount of care. The result costs more up front and far less over the life of your pool.
What We Do
- Custom new pool builds
- Custom spa construction
- Full pool remodels & renovations
What We Don't Do
- No Patch-Job Renovations
We take on complete remodels only, not spot fixes.
- No Pool Cleaning
We build and remodel — we don't offer routine cleaning service.
- No Pool Repairs
We aren't a repair shop; our focus is construction and full remodels.
I employed Tom to do a major pool renovation along with re-landscaping my back yard which included Travertine and artificial grass. Tom impressed me with his attention to detail and held the contractors to the highest of standards. On more than one occasion he had contractors come back and address areas he was not happy with and honestly things that I hadn't noticed until they were pointed out. Tom demonstrated above average competence and knowledge in all facets of my project. I was kept well informed throughout with timelines and completion dates which instilled a great sense of confidence and satisfaction. I never had to worry about anything! Tom went above and beyond throughout and the final project came to completion timely. In the end, my pool and yard are amazing and the talk of the neighborhood! Lastly, Tom came in below budget which is inconceivable to me considering the finished product. I encourage anyone looking for any type of pool / yard renovation to reach out and speak with Tom. I know you will be glad you did!!
